   To promote Women Education in India MHRD has implemented the rule of 14 percent reservation for girls in IITs from 2018. For this a separate merit list is prepared for girl child. Also this quota does not mean reduction in number of seats for boys. 14 percent quota will be ensured by filling supernumerary seats, hence it will not affect the seats assigned for male candidate.
