JGEC Jalpaiguri takes admissions to the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The programmes offered at the Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College Jalpaiguri include B. Tech and M.Tech. JGEC Jalpaiguri accepts scores of WBJEE for the B.Tech programme admission and WB PGET or GATE for the M.Tech programme admission.

• Candidates first have to meet the eligibility criteria.

• After that, candidates have to appear for WBJEE, conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board.

• After the declaration of the result, the ranks and cutoff are released.

• Candidates meeting the cutoff have to appear for WBJEE counselling and give preference to JGEC.

• First, candidates have to meet JGEC eligibility criteria.

• Second, candidates have to appear for WB PGET, conducted by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology.

• Third, after the declaration of the result, a merit list is released.

• Candidates with a valid GATE score are exempted from the entrance test, and weightage is given to the GATE scores while preparing the merit list.

• Fourth, qualified candidates have to appear for WB PGET counselling and give preference to Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, Jalpaiguri.

• Fifth, seats are allotted to the candidates based on merit scores of the entrance test, preferences filled and availability of seats.
