To become a automobile designer you need to be innovative with your ideas and at the same time practical too. Many things should be kept in mind before designing a car such as environment friendly, affordable,more technological, appealing to customers,etc. The skills you need are creativity,math and science,computer aided skills,etc. You should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in product design or automotive design.

Even with the advent of electrical vehicles, automobile engineering will still have a lot of scope. It takes automobile engineers as well to make electric cars. In the case of electric vehicles, it is the internal combustion engine that gets replaced. Everything else will remain more or less the same. These things will still remain in the ambit of automobile engineering. Another aspect is that even though gear boxes might get phased out, there will still be the body, aerodynamics strength and weight, breaking system, suspension, cooling and ventilation. Automobile engineers will continue to work on these systems in the future and come up with new and innovative ideas. Hii Eshban Morde, Since Mechanical is a vast field and separated in different lines like the design, thermal, fluids, automobile, manufacturing, production, quality and so on....Your career should be totally based on your personal Interest. I hope that you have done some certification courses in those two years. If yes, then those certification courses will add up some extra points on your CV.

If you like designing and you are good with drawing then you should go for CAD & CAM software like Auto CAD, CATIA, CREO, SOLID WORKS, SOLID EDGE, NX, MASTERCAM etc. there are so many in the market, you can pick 2-3 software.

Also, note that there is a new industry which has emerged which is known as 3D printing. It has grown now and has future scope in India.

If you are interested in doing technical then go for government jobs or maybe PSU, as mechanical is a core branch there are lots of opportunities in the public and government sector.

Even if you think that you need more knowledge about your Branch then select your domain which you want to master and go for Post graduation.

First of all let me give you a brief about both the courses so that you know well what these both actually are about -

Automobile engineering also known as automotive or vehicle engineering is a branch of engineering which deals with manufacturing, developing, designing, testing and repairing of automobiles like the cars, trucks, scooter etc.
In this branch, there is a blend of mechanical, electrical, software as well as electronic engineering.

Civil Engineering is one of the oldest discipline of engineering. This branch deals with planning, designing and supervising the construction process of buildings, bridges, tunnels, highways, dams, airports and what not. 

Now that we know what is the basics of both, let us discuss the scope of both.

Since the motor vehicles nowadays have become an important part of our life, so the automobile engineering is gaining importance. There is a great demand of automobile engineers but to become prominent in your field, you need specialised training and a lot of hardwork and determination is required.
This field will offer a vast range of opportunities to the graduates. A few examples will include -

Coming to eligiblity for both these courses-
For UG courses it would be qualifying class 12th with science stream and scoring a minimum of 50% aggregate in qualifying exam.
And for PG course, its very obvious that you must hold a Btech degree.
You need to appear in the entrance exam at both UG and PG level for admission.

In my opinion, out of the two i would prefer Civil Engineering rather than automobile engineering. In civil engineering there is greater scope in india. In india automobile industry is not much vast and so there will be less job opportunities and recruitements. Almost all automobiles are manufactured in foreign countries like Germany and less indians are given chance without experience. On the other hand india being a developing country, Civil engineers have a great scope of development. There is a vast range of job opportunities for civil engineers. A lot of construction work is yet to be started and plans are being made so for these projects, new engineers would be required. So if we talk about jobs, Civil graduate will have more jobs compared to one with automobile engineering.
But rest depends on your interest, if you are not interested in civil engineering it is better you study automobile as per your interest and gain the best possible training and excel in your field.
