Hello candidate
Intelligence refers to how well you process information.
Education refers to what you know.
Being intelligent is a matter of biology. Being educated is a matter of choice.
If you’re unintelligent, but choose to be educated, good for you: you’ve played the hand you’re dealt, and you’ll probably do all right (especially since gaining an education without being particularly intelligent is going to take a lot of hard work, perseverance, and dedication, all qualities that help you succeed in life).
If you’re intelligent, but choose to be ignorant, you are doing a disservice to yourself and to society. Intelligence is how well/easily you learn and process new information. So, books and education won’t make you inherently more intelligent. But they will make you “smarter”. Why would you not want to read is the better question? Also, if you’re really anti-reading, try audiobooks. Reading is too valuable to ignore if you want to live a good life. However, traditional education, with schools and books, is not the only way to learn. Make the world your classroom. Look at a tree with wonder, let it teach you about inter-dependent life, about earth’s sustenance, photosynthesis and the amazing ability of trees to refresh the air we believe. Look at an ant colony and learn about teamwork. Look at the night sky and wonder about earth’s relationship to other planets and stars. There is much to learn outside a classroom. You will find, however, that books contain vast knowledge, ideas and information that will help provide giant leaps in your understanding of the world.
I hope you understand.
All the best for your future.
