Evolution
Question : Comprehension: Read the given passage and answer the questions that follow. It is not an exaggeration to say that the question of where and when the Black Death, the deadliest pandemic ever, originated is one of the biggest mysteries in human history. After all, the Black Death was the first wave of the second plague pandemic of the 14th to early 19th centuries. It killed some 50-60% of the population in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa and an unaccountable number of people in Central Asia. Different proposals, based on competing theories, have been put forward. But in 2017, I came across some records describing an intriguing medieval cemetery in Kara-Djigach, Chüy Valley, northern Kyrgyzstan, which I suspected may hold the key. As part of a multidisciplinary team co-led by Maria Spyrou at the University of Tubingen, we have now investigated several specimens from individuals buried at that site – and come up with an answer. The idea that the Black Death originated in the east – territories overlapping, roughly speaking, Central Asia, Mongolia and China – dates back to the contemporaries of the pandemic in Europe and the Islamic world. The modern, academic Chinese origin theory dates back to at least 1756-8 and a publication about the history of Central Asia by French scholar Joseph de Guignes. How does the passage describe the Black Death?
Option 1: The first wave of the second plague pandemic
Option 2: The worst specimen of human created tragedy
Option 3: The specimen of human evolution and its evidence
Option 4: The initiator of all the future pandemics
Correct Answer: The first wave of the second plague pandemic
Solution : The correct choice is the first option.

Question : Comprehension: In the following passage, some words have been deleted. Read the passage carefully and select the most appropriate option to fill in each blank. The solar system is made up of the sun, planets, moons, asteroids, and comets that 1.______ around it. Its mysteries and wonders have captured the imagination of people from all walks of life, and it continues to be an area of active research and exploration. The sun is at the centre of the solar system and is the largest object in it. The eight planets in the solar system, 2._________ Earth, orbit around the sun in nearly circular paths. While the sun is at the centre of the solar system and dominates its gravitational pull, each planet has its own unique set of characteristics that makes it a fascinating object to study. Each planet in the solar system has unique characteristics and features. 3._________ planets, such as Mercury and Venus, are small and rocky, while others, like Jupiter and Saturn, are much larger and made up mostly of gas. The outer planets, Uranus and Neptune, are 4._______ as 'ice giants' because they contain more water, ammonia, and methane than the gas giants. In addition to the planets, the solar system also has numerous moons, asteroids, and comets. These objects provide important 5.______ about the formation and evolution of the solar system. Question: Select the most appropriate option to fill in the blank 4.
Option 1: classified
Option 2: magnified
Option 3: restricted
Option 4: indulged
Correct Answer: classified
Solution : The most appropriate option is the fourth option.
Explanation: Classified means grouped or categorised based on specific characteristics or qualities. In the context of the sentence, Uranus and Neptune are described as 'ice giants' because of their composition, containing more water, ammonia, and methane compared

Hello student,
An evolution never takes place from a single organism, but takes place due to populations because there are plenty of chances of genetic recombinations. Evolution is defined as change in the heritable characteristics of a biological population which is carried from generation to generation and evolution also creates

Evolution does not always lead to more advanced species. Evolution is simply a description of the way change occurs in biological creatures over many generations in order to better exploit a certain environment. Evolution sometimes leads to progress, but it sometimes leads in the opposite direction. For instance, the Texas
Natural evolution did not create a chicken that lays so many unfertilized eggs. Human engineering created such chickens. You could call the process "human-caused evolution", "artificial selection", or "selective breeding". The evolutionary principles of survival of the fittest and inheritance of genetic traits still apply in artificial selection, but the
