Hello
With 270 marks in NEET PG, you have a decent chance for some good branches. Your category and state quota play a big role in what you can get. You might get branches like General Medicine, Anesthesia, Pathology, or Psychiatry.
Highly competitive branches like Dermatology or Orthopedics usually need higher scores. Your rank compared to others also matters a lot. Checking previous year cutoffs for your state and category can help predict your chances. Counseling results will give the final picture.
Hello Pruthvi,
Taking a drop year to reappear for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is a well-defined process. As a repeater, you are fully eligible to take the exam again to improve your score and secure a better rank for admissions.
The main procedure involves submitting a new application for the KCET through the official Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) website when registrations open for the next academic session. You must pay the required application fee and complete all formalities just like any other candidate. A significant advantage for you is that you do not need to retake your 12th board exams. Your previously secured board marks in the qualifying subjects will be used again. Your new KCET rank will be calculated by combining these existing board marks with your new score from the KCET exam. Therefore, your entire focus during this year should be on preparing thoroughly for the KCET to achieve a higher score. For more details about the KCET Exam preparation, CLICK HERE.

For the GEN-PwD category, Home State quota at NITK CSE, cutoffs are lower than General. You may need a percentile of around 95–97 in JEE Main for a safe chance. Closing rank is usually around 20,000–40,000, depending on seat availability. Cutoffs can vary each year based on difficulty level and number of applicants. Being a home state candidate improves your chances slightly. It’s best to check JoSAA Round 6 cutoffs for the latest year for accuracy. Always apply in counseling — cutoffs may drop in later rounds.
Hello! For admission to the CSE branch at NITK under the GEN PWD category with Home State quota, the cutoff is usually much lower than the general category. Based on past trends, you should aim for around 85–90 percentile or higher in JEE Main to have a good chance, though the exact cutoff may vary each year with seat availability. https://www.careers360.com/university/national-institute-of-technology-karnataka-surathkal/cut-off

CBSE (or most boards) calculates your best 5 subjects out of 6, only if Yoga is officially considered an academic/elective subject.
Yoga is often treated as an additional subject, and boards only replace a subject if you fail in one of the first five.
If you passed all 5 core subjects, then Yoga marks will not be used to improve your percentage officially (unless your board allows it).
Check your board's policy on additional subjects replacing core ones for percentage calculation. Some colleges/universities accept the best 5 marks, including an additional subject (Yoga), so it depends on where you are applying.
If applying for college admission, contact them to see if they allow Yoga to be counted in your percentage.
