To get admission in Sri Ramachandra Medical College under the government quota, you need to clear NEET UG. For the General category, the expected cutoff marks for 2025 are around 426, with closing ranks between 2,70,000 and 2,80,000. Cutoffs vary for other categories, and multiple counseling rounds are held, so ranks may shift. Make sure you meet all eligibility criteria and have the required documents for counseling.
Hey! For admission into Sri Ramachandra Medical College through the government quota, the NEET-UG cut-off generally stays on the higher side because it is a deemed university and comes under MCC counselling. In 2025, the MBBS closing rank for general category under the government quota was around 2.6 lakh, while in the previous years it went up to nearly 2.7–3.1 lakh. For BDS seats, the cut-off usually extends further and in 2025 it was close to 5.2 lakh. However, these numbers can slightly change every year depending on the difficulty of the paper, number of applicants, and availability of seats. If your NEET rank is better than these ranges, then you have a fair chance to secure a seat under the govt quota. Still, keep in mind that cut-offs fluctuate, so it’s better to check official MCC counselling data once the seat matrix is released.
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out!
In Tamil Nadu, for OBC category, MD Anaesthesia in government medical colleges usually closes within 25k–35k rank in NEET PG. With a better rank than this range, you stand a chance.
All the best!
Hey Rafida!
Post Graduate Medical Education Regulation under state PG councelling predictions are nothing but Regular PG medical seats(MD/MS) government in govt and private colleges that are recognised by National Medical Comission(NMC) and offered through both councelling.
These seats are divided into 50% AIQ and 50%State quota, where the all indian seats are filled through MCC counselling and state quota through state counselling.
Hope this helps!
Dear aspirant,
It's very much unlikely to secure a seat in BHMS course in a government college with 120 marks in NEET, especially under the general category. The cutoff for government BHMS colleges is generally very much higher than what you have scored, often around 350 or even higher. While some private colleges may offer admission with scores around 120, especially in states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, or Bihar under the management or open quota, securing a government seat with this score is very challenging. But you have to keep an eye on state level counseling rounds and mop-up rounds for BHMS admissions, as chances may improve if seats remain vacant. For more details please visit the link given below.

Your chances of being admitted to a Government Medical College are moderate to good if you have a NEET 2025 score of 510 and an all India rank of around 41 907 in the open category, particularly through the state quota.
All India Quota
In recent years, the all India quota cutoff for MBBS in the general category has varied from 610 to 615+ for prestigious Government universities. That's why it is quite difficult to secure a seat under the AIQ in the general category with 510 marks.
State Quota
Your prospects are much increased under the state quota, particularly if your native state has a little lower closing cut off and more government medical institutions. Depending on the volume of applications and available seats, states like as Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and Bihar mein award MBBS places at Government colleges for 510 - 530 marks.

Dear Barsha, With a NEET 2025 score of 295 , getting a government MBBS seat through All India Quota (AIQ) is not possible . The cut-off for General category under AIQ is usually around 530–560 marks , and even for OBC, SC, or ST , it's generally above 400 . So 295 falls well below the required range.
You might still qualify for NEET, but admission to a government medical college via AIQ is out of reach at this score.
Your options now include looking into private medical colleges , deemed universities , or alternative medical fields like BDS , BAMS , BHMS , or paramedical courses .
If you belong to a reserved category and your home state has lower cut-offs , you might check state quota options — but even then, chances for MBBS in a government college are slim.
