Is it true that the KCET rank cutoff displayed by the colleges are not true and that it varies in extended round because I got 26,315 rank and I want GIT BELGAUM ENC Branch but professors are assuming that I might not get and my friends are telling that I will get it easily. So whom should I trust??

Nikita shahi 11th Aug, 2025

Hello, yes, the KCET cutoff ranks can indeed change in the extended round. The first cutoff lists are based on seats filled during the main rounds, but in the extended round, many students withdraw, upgrade to other branches, or choose colleges in different states. This creates vacant seats, allowing candidates with ranks lower than the initial cutoff to get admission. However, the extent of this change varies each year depending on demand. With your rank of 26,315 and aiming for GIT Belgaum ENC branch, it’s possible you might get a seat if enough students drop out. Professors are cautious because they’ve seen years when seats didn’t fall that much, while friends might be optimistic based on past cases.

Are the professors knowledgeable and approachable? Is the curriculum up-to-date and industry-relevant? How is the quality of lectures and lab sessions? Are there opportunities for research or projects? Infrastructure Are classrooms and labs well-equipped? Is the library stocked with useful reso

Sajal Trivedi 8th Apr, 2025

Hii There,

A current, industry-relevant curriculum and the expertise and approachability of the teachers are crucial factors to take into account when assessing a college.  Research and project possibilities enable the practical application of information, while high-quality lectures and interactive lab sessions improve learning.  Well-equipped classrooms, labs, and a creative library are all examples of good infrastructure that is essential to fostering academic development.

I hope this answers your question.

Thanks

Question : Directions: In this question, three statements are given, followed by two conclusions numbered I and II. Assuming the statements to be true, even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts, decide which of the conclusions logically follows/follow from the statements
Statements:
I. No dean is a teacher.
II. All teachers are professors.
III. No professor is a lecturer.
Conclusions:
I. Some deans are lecturers.
II. Some teachers are lecturers.

Option 1: Only conclusion II follows

Option 2: Only conclusion I follows

Option 3: Both conclusions I and II follow

Option 4: Neither conclusion I nor II follows

Team Careers360 17th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: Neither conclusion I nor II follows

Solution : The possible Venn diagram according to the given statements is as follows –

Let's analyze the conclusions –
Conclusion I: Some deans are lecturers – From the Venn diagram, it is evident that there is no definite relation between deans and lecturers. Thus, this conclusion does not follow.
Conclusion II: Some teachers are lecturers – Since no professor is a lecturer and all teachers are professors, so some teachers can never be lecturers. Thus, this conclusion does not follow.

So, neither conclusion I nor II follows. Hence, the fourth option is correct.
