What is the cut off mark for civil engineering in this college?

Anoosha Bhat 29th Mar, 2019

Hey,

Thiagarajar college of engineering, Madurai invites admission for B.tech through TNEA . TNEA also called as Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions is conducted by ANNA university. There are total 563 institutes which participate in this. The registration will be available online in the month of May tentatively for TNEA. Out of these 563 colleges, thiagarajar college is one of them.

Anna University will release the cut offs after announcement of results. Cut off usually will be the minimum marks required by participating institutes as well as the engineering courses offered by them. So naturally , if you are seeking admissions through TNEA , then you will have to score more.

There are various criteria that will determine the cut off ranks - like previous year cut off trends, number of seats available as well as number of candidates appearing for this particular TNEA.

Like for last year, the closing rank cut off was around 163577 for civil in partici[ating institutes alltogether.

In thiagarajar college of engineering, last year cutoff rank was around 5635 for genera merit. This 5635 was a closing rank and openeing rank was somewhere around 1122. For sc/st the opening rak was around 9100's.

So the ranks will also depend on all parameters. This years cuoff ranks are not yet available, because as said before, after announcement of results, the ANNA university will release its rank and cut offs. Even though the Institutes have varied cutoffs, Anna university will release.

Basically , For every round , Anna University revises its cut off marks and ranks, based on which the Thiagarajar college also takes in admissions. The rank lists will be prepared for each participating institutes and will be branch and category specific too. So yu need to wait until you get the result for current year's cut off.

Here is the link for last year and previous year's cut off link. You can refer that to see what was the closing and opening rank last year and previous years -

How to prepare a plan for doing masters degree while working full time in TCE?

Niharika Moturu 25th Jan, 2019

Hello Rajesh...

Finding the Right Program for You

  • Write down your priorities. If you are thinking about going to graduate school, you need to carefully select your program. You will be making a large financial investment, and also investing a lot of time
  • Research different schools. Once you have listed your priorities, it is time to begin looking at individual programs. Make a list of schools in your area. If you are interested in an online program, you can include schools outside of your geographic area.
  • Talk to professors and students. When you are in graduate school, it is important that you make connections with faculty and fellow students. You will need their support and advice. As part of your research process, reach out to current and past students
  • Plan a budget. A Master's program can be very expensive. When you are selecting a program, make sure to take financial costs into account. Find out how much each graduate credit hour costs

Succeeding Academically

  • Create a schedule. Once you have started actively working on your Master's degree, you will want to make sure that you are a successful student. Going back to school can be an adjustment. When you are working full-time, it is crucial that you make a schedule so that you can devote the proper amount of time to your classes
  • Adjust to online learning. Many Master's programs take place in an online setting. This is so that professionals like you can continue to work full-time while pursuing a degree. Online courses offer a lot of flexibility, but they can take some getting used to
  • Succeed in your courses. A graduate program might consist of online courses, in-person courses, or a mixture of both. Whatever the structure, you want to make sure to find a way to succeed in each of your classes. Take steps to find a learning method that is right for you
  • Seek supportive relationships. Try to make friends with other students. Graduate programs can be very stressful. You will find it useful to get to know others who are in the same situation

Balancing School with Work and Family

  • Talk to your boss. When you are earning a Masters degree while working, you will need to actively balance your career and school commitments. Once you have decided to pursue a degree, it is important to have a conversation with your boss. Schedule a time to address your questions or concerns
  • Continue to perform well at work. Earning a Master's degree is hard work. School will take up a lot of your time and mental energy. However, it is important to remain committed to your career throughout the process.
  • Communicate with your family. Balancing school and work can be difficult. Finding time for your family and friends can seem even more impossible while you are earning a degree. Take some time to talk to your family about the situation.
  • Life a healthy lifestyle. Balancing school and work and family can take its toll. In order to handle the pressure, you need to stay physically healthy. Take steps to take care of your body
  • Relax. You might feel stressed while pursuing a Master's degree. That's normal. Remember to take some time out for self-care. This is especially important when you are juggling a hectic schedule.
