Hello aspirant, With an ST category rank of around 41,126 in TS EAMCET, your chances of getting Computer Science or ECE in top government colleges are very low, as the cutoffs for ST in those branches usually close much earlier. However, you still have a fair chance of getting branches like Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, especially in the later rounds of counselling or spot admissions.
In private colleges, many good institutes offer these branches at higher ranks. You can aim for Mechanical or Civil Engineering in colleges like Malla Reddy, CMR, MVSR, or Aurora. Some of them keep seats open till very late ranks for ST candidates.
So yes, while top-tier CSE might not be possible, you definitely have a good shot at getting into private engineering colleges in core branches if you participate actively in all counselling rounds.
Hello Aspirant,
With an EAMCET rank of 14000 under the BC-D female category, you have a fair chance for admission into CSE – Cyber Security and a moderate chance for CSE (General) at Sri Vishnu Engineering College for Women, Bhimavaram. Based on expected 2025 trends, the cutoff for CSE – Cyber Security may range between 13000 and 15000, where your rank fits well. However, the closing rank for CSE (General) under the BC-D female category was around 7300 in past years, which may make it challenging to get that branch under the regular category. It is recommended to prioritize CSE – Cyber Security during choice filling and participate in all rounds of counselling for better chances.
All the best for your counselling!

Hello aspirant, With 86 percentile in MHT CET, your approximate rank would fall between 20,000 to 25,000. In Pune, this gives you a fair chance at getting Computer Science Engineering (CSE) in mid-tier private colleges, though top ones like PCCOE, PICT, MIT WPU, or VIT Pune may be tough in the first rounds unless you're from a reserved category. You can target colleges like DY Patil Akurdi, JSPM Narhe, Indira College of Engineering, Zeal College, etc., where CSE cutoffs usually go up to 85–88 percentile in later rounds. Make sure to participate actively in all CAP rounds, fill in a broad choice list, and keep an eye on cutoffs. If you're from a reserved category, chances improve significantly even in better-ranked colleges.
Yes, Information Technology (IT) is a good branch in engineering, especially in today’s technology-driven world. It offers excellent career prospects due to the increasing demand for skilled IT professionals across industries. If you have an interest in programming, software development, and emerging technologies like AI, cloud computing, and cybersecurity, IT can be a strong career choice.
IT engineering provides opportunities in both government and private sectors, with job roles such as software developer, data analyst, network engineer, cybersecurity expert, and more. Top IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and multinational firms regularly recruit IT graduates. The average placement package is competitive and often increases with specialization and skills.
However, success in IT requires consistent learning and interest in coding and problem-solving. If you are comfortable with these, then IT is a promising and rewarding branch in engineering.
All the best for your future!
Hello aspirant, For AP EAMCET 2023, the opening and closing ranks for Computer Science Engineering (CSE) varied by college. At JNTU Kakinada, CSE seats opened around rank 434 and closed by 4,800. At GMR Institute of Technology, CSE admissions began near 2,344 and closed around 4,866. Mid-tier colleges like MITS Madanapalle had closing ranks around 11,885, while Mohan Babu University closed at approximately 5,280.
In general, top government and autonomous colleges close by 5,000 rank, while good private colleges extend to around 12,000 to 15,000 in later rounds. So if your rank is within this range, you stand a good chance at securing CSE, depending on your choice filling and counselling strategy.
