Hi Aspirant,

Yes, you can go for IIT after Polytechnic. It is possible only if you have completed recognized diploma from the AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3 years duration. However you won't be admitted to second year of IIT like they do in normal engineering as lateral entry. To get admission you will have to appear for JEE Main + JEE Advanced similar to 12th passed candidates. The eligibility criteria for JEE Main(+Advanced) 2021 suggests that a candidate should have successfully passed class 12 or equivalent exam in 2019 or 2020 or are appearing in class 12 or equivalent qualifying exam in 2021(Previously there was a minimum criteria of 75% in 12th or equivalent to get into IIT).
