Dear aspirant,

A cut off of 178.5 marks in the BC category might not be completely safe for a B.Sc Forestry seat but you may still have a fighting chance depending on the institute and its competition level. For example at TNAU the expected cutoff for B.Sc. Forestry in the OC/BC category is around 190 marks. while SC/ST cutoffs are slightly lower , around 180. So 178.5 marks is just a bit below the expected safe threshold. However the actual admission depends on the specific college's cut off reservation policies, seat availability, and application trends. It’s best to check with the university or counseling body for the precise cutoff for the BC category last year and consider applying if there’s flexibility or lower round admissions. Good luck!
