3. What is the importance of transpiration as in NCERT chapter 11 Class 11?

Transpiration is required for:

  1. Generating transpiration stream in xylem

  2. Supplying water and minerals to all parts of the plant

  3. Cooldown the plant by up to 10-15 ˚C by evaporative cooling.

  4. Maintaining the turgidity of plant cells.
