Hi percentile is different and percentage is different. To answer your query 50 percentage is 360 marks out of 720 , Good luck.

hi

it is not 50 percent it means 50th percentile...

these two are different things. while 50 percent means half of the total mrks , 50th percentile means it depends on the marks scored by the top ranker which may or may not be full marks.

if you get 65percentile , it means you have scored better than 65 percent of people who have appeared for the exam. it is a relative comparison. it is notyour marks.

i hope this clears.

all the best

Hey Venkatesh,

NEET scores are not based on percentages but rather  based on percentiles which means that it really depends on how many students score better than you. Last year the cut off to qualify for the All India Counseling was 131 out of 720 marks i.e. 50th percentile. The higher your score, the higher is your percentile. For example, if your percentile is 85%, that means you have scored better than 85% of all the students who have answered the Examination.

However, you must understand that just scoring the bare minimum will not fetch you a seat but rather you must focus on scoring 550+ to secure a seat under General Quota through All India Quota Counselling.

Try your best! All the very best for your preparations!

Total marks in NEET are 720. So 50%= 360.

I think you are asking about 50th percentile. Please know there is a lot of difference between percentile and percentage. 50th percentile means that out of all appeared candidates, your score stand higher than 50% of total candidates.

For example, suppose there are 10 Candidates and you get 40th percentile, this would mean that you rank higher than 4 Candidates. That is your rank is 6th.

Now what marks would give you 50th percentile is variable. However, following general trends, you should score around 300 for 50th percentile.

All the best.
