It is good to see that you have such clarity before entering MBA course. The answer to your question is yes you must pursue the course and then do work ex in a relevant field of digital marketing. it will surely add weight to your profile during MBA interviews.

ALso in bschool placements sales and marketing work ex people will be scarce and you will get a edge there as well.

Go for one year to one and half year work ex in marketing.

Both ways to pursue an MBA is perfectly fine. However, if you work for a year or so in the relevant field, you are streamlined and focused from the start itself.

This can help you a great deal during your summer and final placements. It helps specifically in raking the interview in the right direction.

So if you are certain about pursuing digital marketing even after an MBA and can afford to work and put off an MBA for a year, then there is no harm in doing so.
