Your MSc, specialization will be from your BSc. domain only. You can take GATE from your stream only. You will get only those questions which you studied in your BSc. life. If you are thinking of applying for any different domain then that is not possible in India. You have to look for aboard options if you really interested in other domain specialization.

Then after considering your score and marks from BSc you can get an admission in NIT or IIT. There is a process to get  seat at IIT or NIT. There is no direct admission there.

For Data Science, IIT,NIT and BITs wil be the best option to look for a specialization course as they are highly recognized and increases the market value.
