The admission process to B.E. depends upon the state and Colleges. Lateral Entry Program is a program in which students who have completed a 3-year Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. degree or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks can take admission and get B. Tech./B.E. degree in just three years.

It would help if you appear for the college's respective Engineering Entrance Test and the course they want to join. Many engineering colleges offer lateral entry to Engineering Diploma holders. Lateral entry means you can join the engineering program directly in the second year or the third semester of B.E./B.Tech.
