i am here providing you boh advantage as well as disadvantage:

Advantages- 
> the person who deserves get the seat.
> u get to know where you stand in the crowd( so that you can improve).
> u study seriously ( as we know with aim, we work better).
Disadvantages- 
> reservations ( it hurts when a general category student clears the cut off but didnt get seat n a reserved category student with very less score gets admission ).
> diligent students , if not able to clear, get into depression.
> if the examination day wasn't ur day( either u r sick or Amy other prob) u may have to wait for a year.
