The eligibility criteria to apply for UP TGT is as follows:

1. The candidate's age limit shout be between 21-60 years.

2. A candidate for direct recruitment to the post of a teacher must be a citizen of India.

3. No candidate shall be eligible for appointment to the post of a teacher unless he be in good mental and boldily health and free from any physical defect.

4. Candidate must possess a graduation degree in a relevant subject and B.Ed/ BTC or any other training certificate. For biology subject, the candidate must be a BSc. graduate with Botany and Zoology as main subjects.
