The syllabus for UPSC IAS is divided into two parts : Prelims and Mains

The prelims exam is the first stage of UPSC recruitment. There are two papers in prelims- General studies paper 1 and General studies paper 2

The mains is the second stage of UPSC recruitment. The mains paper is conducted for 9 papers across multiple days.
