No, it is not mandatory to give jee main paper again. If you are happy with your result then do not give it again. Also there will be no problem in your councelling if you don't give jee main again.
However, there is no harm in taking both the exams rather it will prepare you for the next attempt. JEE mains will be conducted twice a year but its not mandatory to sit for both. You can only give one exam or if you wish to give another try you can give both also. Its not mandatory to take first exam which will be in January, you can give the exam in any order if you wish to take only one.
