parts of plant and animal cells and their functions in simple words:

  • Nucleus: The control center of the cell that directs all activities.

  • Cytoplasm: Jelly-like fluid where all cell parts float and reactions happen.

  • Cell Membrane: Protects the cell and controls what enters and exits.

  • Mitochondria: The powerhouse that produces energy for the cell.

  • Golgi Apparatus: Packages and sends materials to different parts of the cell.

Hello,

Both plant and animal cells are the basic units of life, but they have a few differences. Each cell has several parts that work together to keep it alive and functioning properly.

1. Cell Membrane: It’s like a thin skin that surrounds the cell, controlling what goes in and out.

2. Cytoplasm: A jelly-like fluid inside the cell where all the parts float and most activities happen.

3. Nucleus: The “brain” of the cell that controls all actions and stores DNA, which has the instructions for growth and function.

4. Mitochondria: Known as the “powerhouse” of the cell, they produce energy from food.

5. Ribosomes: Tiny dots that make proteins, which are important for cell repair and growth.

6. Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER): It helps in the transport of materials. The rough ER has ribosomes and helps make proteins, while the smooth ER makes fats and oils.

7. Golgi Apparatus: Works like a packaging center it modifies and sends proteins to where they’re needed.

8. Vacuoles: Storage bags that hold food, water, or waste. Plant cells have one large vacuole, while animal cells have smaller ones.

9. Cell Wall (only in plants): A rigid outer layer that gives shape and protection to the cell.

10. Chloroplasts (only in plants): These contain chlorophyll, which helps plants make their own food through photosynthesis.

Together, these parts help the cell stay healthy, grow, and carry out all life processes.

I hope you find this helpful!!!

Thank you
