Hello,

students having maths as major subject in 12th are eligibile for IIT and NIT. Admission is given on when a student satisfies both eligibility criteria and selection criteria.

eligibility criteria:- candidate must have secured 75% or above in 12th for admission at IIT. if you belong to reservation category then there is relaxation of 10%.

in selection criteria:- you have to qualify both JEE mains and jee advance. when your jee advance rank satisfies the rank cutoff for branch you will give in counselling application process then you will get admission.

To appear jee advance, you have to  clear jee main with good score. NTA will release merit list for JEE advance and those students are eligible for appearing the exam. approximately 3 lakhs students appeared for jee advance last year.

There might be some changes in process for present year due to pandemic crisis. for any change board will notify you. keep checking the official webpage of NTA.

Hope it helps!
