Well engineering has a wide scope of opportunities as compared to pharma and I think good engineer are paid handsomely.Job opportunity is more and easily available for engineers. But it is also true that pharma is a good branch to take up and is underestimate. People of pharmacy are paid good.

But at the end it all depends on your interest.
