Just to clear out the confusion if there is any, Manipal has 2 colleges under it which offers MBA, TAPMI and SOM. Now ,TAPMI is a pretty good college and does petty good in terms of placements. In private colleges it will come under top 20 after lights of XLRI,SPJAIN,IIFT,MDI,NMIMS Mumbai and SIBM Pune. 

SOM is quite new and if i have talk about ranking then different sources will give different ranks , one source would say 45 and other would say 92. It doesnt matter with the rank if a college is not in top 30 colleges of India. It is tough to classify it into a tier in a similar way, it may come down to even tier 5 or 6.

It belongs to Tier 2 college.It is good college and if you work hard then you will definitely get good career opportunities.

Manipal University has 2 intuitions that provide MBA. One is TAPMI and School of Management(SOM) . T.A Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) in Manipal is amongst the top ranked B-schools in India after the IIMS and other private schools like XLRI, SP Jain

Also there is SOM, SOM has 3 branches of MBA, MBA (Global Business). MBA health care and MBA General

MBA (Global business) will have almost same curriculum as of mba general business except for the fact that MBA global business will have their second semester in manipal university Dubai campus. The placements are also pretty decent .The Fee structure for SOM are as below MBA Global Business-506000 for 2 Years, (The Dubai campus accommodation and visa fee should be borne by students which will cost around 4lakhs).
