Hello . Yes, definitely it helps you. As per my experience if you go for any certification,  it proves that you possess the knowledge and thus have passed the particular course.

But you will have to make sure, that while interviewing at any agency,  you should have the practical knowledge all about that course. It shouldn't be that you have got the certificate in your hand but you are unable to answer the question regarding it. It will give a bad impression.

So be very wise while picking up any certifications and gain knowledge thoroughly.

Certification from Harvard university online,  MIT, IBM and many more will help you know the basics and will help you perform well practically.
