Yes there is a sectional cutt off in all the sections in XAT exam. You need to get a minimum marks in all the sections to be eligible for admission. According to last year trends the cutoffs are-

VA/ and LR- 8-9

DM- 8

QA and DI - 12-13

also for GK you need to clear the section for consideartion into XLRI. There is no neagtive marking in essay and GK

The sectional cutoffs this year are expected to be as below:

Verbal and Logical Ability : 7.5-8.5

Decision Making: 7-8

Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation: 12-13

Yes, XAT releases sectional cutoff. It releases diifeernt cutoff for 2 ourse PGDM-BM, PGDM-HR.

Yes XAT does feature sectiional cutoffs and also overall combined cutoffs. 

Students supposed to hav eminimum score in each section like Verbal ability, data interpretation and Quantitative ability.

XLRI releases two cut offs, one for PGDM-IB and other for PGDM-HR
following was the cut off for XAT 2017
PGDM IB
VA: 79.46
DM:76.48
QA: 88.7
Overall: 96
PGDM HR
VA: 79.69
DM: 71.62
QA: 70.07
Overall: 92.55

Otherwise various other colleges that accept XAT scores take out their own cut offs that you may need to check with the requried college.

Colleges which give admissions on the basis of XAT score may or may not keep any sectional cut off. Sometimes it only ask the minimum cut off and if you have cleared that margin you will receive mail to apply for GD and interview. Like XISS last time did not keep any bar on sectional cut off , it simply quoted 85 percentile as a minimum cut off.

Different sections holds different weightage.

So don't worry about cut offs simply give your best.
