It is unlikely to make it to the top IIM's in case you have less than 60% since one of the shortlisting criteria for them is your graduation marks. But keep in mind that weightage given to this number changes since the calculation pattern of IIMs change frequently given graduation percentage less weightage.



But you can always try for other top colleges which give lesser or no weightages to the same such as DMS, IITD, SJSOM, NITIE, IIFT, MDI among other. I hope this answer helps you.

Yes there are such people in IIMs. There are a number of IIMs which have a greater weightage on the cat score. Then the wieghtages are divided between cat score, undergrad score, 10th and 12th and also the personal interview that you give. So if you are the cat exam and the personal interview there are chances that you will still crack the interview irrespective of your undergrad score. Moreover certain certifications like cfa or ncfm can also aid you not only in getting selected in good colleges but also in getting shortlist for companies.

CAt requires you to have at least 50% marks in your under graduation.

Coming to your question, specifically speaking, there are instances where people get into IIMs with <60% marks in their undergraduate. But that said, they have good profiles or something highly relevant in their resumes that helps them cover up for the lag in their academic performance.
