Hello Beeshma!! Autonomous college means it has freedom design their own syllabus ,independent control over its day to day operations and curriculum.These colleges will be free to conduct admissions,conduct exams on their own and evaluate by them and declaring results.Degree awarded will have university name along with theirs.Autonomy reflects efforts for excellence in academics,capability of self governance and quality of education.Autonomous college gives  a prestigious name for students as well as for teachers.There are many autonomous colleges in india .The fee structure is different for various colleges and it also depends on the stream that you  are chosen.Some colleges may offer fee concession based merit score of entrance exams.Hope the above information may helps you.All the best !!!
