As a student of BDS myself, i can assure you that BDS has the upper hand for a number of reasons-

1. You will learn the same subjects as an MBBS student for the first three years of the course, which means that your basic knowledge of medicine will be almost same as your MBBS counterpart. After you complete your degree, you will become a professional doctor.

2. Dentists are among the top paid professionals in the world, and contrary to popular myth, we don't deal with teeth ONLY. You there are nine streams in which you can pursue MDS in, one of which includes OMFS which enables you to become a highly skilled surgeon and oncologist. Tumours, cycts etc can not be easily treated with ayurveda. To practice modern medicine, you need to know the basics. ONLY a dentist can solve any problem related to oral health.

Do not chose either if you think it is inferior to any other stream or profession. It requires utmost dedication, hard work, and skill. If you do anything for the sake of money, your chances to succeed are negligible.
