I am assuming you meant NET exam.

UGC/CSIR LS (NET) qualification is now mandatory for coaching in any University/college in India. Students who qualify as JRF are also eligible for lectureship. Moreover, JRF qualification is considered more prestigious as JRF qualified students are entitled to a monthly stipend of 25,000 p.m. for a period of two years. On Completion of two years as JRF and if the fellow is registered for Ph.D., the fellowship is upgraded to SRF (NET) and the stipend is increased to Rs. 28,000/- p.m for the 3rd and subsequent years.
