The Sikkim Government will recognise the Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education through legislation under Act 14 in 2020. The Sikkim government's education system and certificates have been recognised for admission to higher education courses by the Association of Indian Universities. The NIOS National Institute of Open Schooling of India has recognised the Government of Sikkim's open schooling. As a result, all certifications and degrees granted by the Sikkim Government's Board of Open School and Skill Education are recognised in India and worldwide.
