Admissions in BSc Chemistry are generally done on merit basis in most of the colleges but there are few colleges like Banaras Hindu University and Jamia Millia Islamia University who offer this course on the basis of entrance tests.

The entrance test is of 2-3 hours duration and contains objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. Students are assessed on the basis of entrance test and marks scored in 10+2 examination.
