Under the new guidelines of RCI you can get a job just after completing your graduation in clinical psychology. The graduation course allows you to be a counselling psychologist, not a clinical psychologist. To become a clinical psychologist, you need to do further education. Without higher education, you cannot diagnose or treat severe mental health disorders.

After graduating with a BSc in clinical psychology, apply for CRR registration. After successful registration, you will get your RCI license, and with that, you can work as a counselling psychologist in various settings such as mental health clinics, community health centers, schools and institutes. The starting salary in these starts from INR 2.5-4 LPA.
