To get a seat in BSc Hons in Physics or Chemistry in St Xaviers Ahmedabad you need to have mathematics as a subject in your class 12th. Even if you are from pcb but you had maths as a subject too then you can get admission in the above said courses provided that you can claer the cutoff. St Xaviers calculate it's cutoff for any subject in a different way. Ex: for Physics it will be

PHY = Physics marks out off 100 .

MAT = Mathematics marks out of 100.

Marks evaluated as = 3×PHY + 2×MAT
