SAT is a standardized test administered by the College Board and is required to be taken by students seeking admission to undergraduate schools. Applicants aspire to pursue undergraduate courses, particularly in the US and Canada, are required to take the SAT exam. If the student is looking to get admission to a particular course, s/he can take the SAT subject tests to show his knowledge and understanding of that particular subject. Subject tests are offered in areas like Literature, History, Mathematics, Sciences and Foreign Languages.

Candidates should be informed that there is no minimum or maximum age criteria fixed for students wanting to appear for the exam. General studies have shown that students belonging to the age group of 17 to 19 are among the highest to appear for SAT.

Hello,

SAT is an international level examination that evaluates a candidates’ academic knowledge in Reading, Writing and Quantitative Aptitude and other prescribed specialised subjects. SAT is opted by aspirants who wish to pursue undergraduate studies in the United States and some other countries. It evaluates how the test takers analyse problems and provide a logical solution.

The examination is of 3 hours and 50 minutes duration ( including essay ).

According to the exam pattern of SAT, the complete duration of the test is three hours. However, candidates are given extra 50 minutes for the Essay, which is optional and based on college requirement. The exam pattern is given below:

  • Evidence-Based Reading and Writing

  • Reading and Writing Test

  • Language test

  • Math

  • Essay

Hello,

SAT is a test used for admissions in the colleges in United States. It tests your skills in writing, mathematics and reading. Its purpose is to help in getting admission for the undergraduate programs in the United States. It is a 3 or 3.5 hour long paper offered around 7 times a year.

SAT is an international standardized test required for admission into most of the colleges in the United States. It is also accepted in colleges in Australia, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Canada. SAT is developed and published by the College Board. It is administered by Educational Testing Services worldwide on behalf of the College Board in over 25,000 test centers across 192 countries.

SAT Test is conducted 7 times annuallydepending upon the region. It is held at least 5 times a year in most countries. SAT registration costs between USD 52.50 to USD 101.50 depending upon the country. It was taken by 1.7 million students across the world in 2017.

SAT is 3 hours long paper-pencil test.It has four sections – Reading; Writing and Language; Mathematics (no calculator); Mathematics (calculator use allowed).A fifth section of essay writing (50 minutes) is optional. It is, however, required by some colleges.The score range is between 400-1600 for overall test.

No eligibility criteria
Students who are 12 years or younger in age can only register by mail
Students in eighth grade or below must not include a photo in their registration

SAT Registration
SAT registration can be done online or by mail.
Special accommodations can be requested for students with disabilities at the time of registration

SAT Exam Pattern
