Yes practical chemistry and analytical chemistry are considered different chapters because in analytical chemistry we usually test the salt solution with a base to see if any precipitate is obtained or not and also test the colour of the precipitate.

Analytical chemisty steps are the initial steps of practical chemistry(checking if precipitate is obtained or not mostly) but in practical chemistry we have to perform various other tests like flame test,check the precipitate,litmus test,check the odour of the gas,its nature(crystalline, amorphous) evolved to predict which salt sample has been given to us.
