Yes you can be an IAS officer after doing mbbs. Its not wrong to have a patriotic feeling for nation and feeling to make our country a better nation or society. Being a doctor you will work in a hospital but being an IAS officer several hospitals, clinics will be under you where you can make them better. Also IAS is a very respected job in the country and offers a lot of perks.

Yes. You can surely become an IAS officer after completing your MBBS degree. The educational eligibility criteria to appear for Civil Services Examination is that the candidate should have a graduation degree in any field from a recognized university.

The Prelims of Civil Services Exam consists of two papers General Studies I and General Studies II ( CSAT ). The Mains paper consists of Paper A and Paper B each for 300 makrs, Paper I, II, III, IV, V as compulsory papers each for 250 Marks and Paper VI & Paper VII as Optional subjects papers each for 250 marks. For the optional subjects, you can choose subjects from your MBBS, such as Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Biochemistry, etc.

Yes you can be an ias officer as for appearing in that exam candidate should be a graduate from any of the bachelors degree and holding your MBBS would your plus point this is because the UPSC  Medical science syllabus has lot of common with the syllabus of the UPSC CMS ( central Medical services) exam as well as PG entrance exam.
So prepare well you might get the chance to clear the exam with good score
