Yeah you can buy it but still now also the test is offline only so i don't think so there is need for you to buy it. I don't think that CBSC will allow JEE to make it online because many poor students will not afford their own laptop. So i think it will be offline only.

Yes you can buy a laptop.  But before that you need to question yourself few questions: 1.) If you enroll in some test series like that of Vidyamandir you will be allowed to give tge test on the computer at their respective centres. Can it fulfil your requirement. If yes than no beed to buy a laptop. 2.) If you require a laptop and it is requirement i.e. you cannot substitute for option and laptop is a requirement than I will recommend you to buy laptop but still you need to be clear that you will be only be using it for educational purposes. No unnecessary internet use and no gaming. 3.) If you are ready to avoid distractions and have control on yourself and admant to use laptop only for mocks or study packages and it will help you to imlrove your score than go for it. Else there is no need. It is not that JEE Mains preparation require laptop. Even the books available are of great use. Even then test series are good source of practice. But if you are unable to use them then only think to buy a laptop.  I think I have made my response clear to you.
