Yes, you can take Biology instead of Math if you're repeating your 12th. When you register again, you’ll need to choose the new subject combination, and in this case, you can opt for Biology. Just make sure your school or board allows this change, and you may have to attend Biology practicals as well. It’s always good to inform your school or board office before making the subject switch officially.

Yes, you can shift from Maths to Biology while repeating Class 12, provided your chosen education board and school allow subject changes. You'll need to fill out a subject change application form and meet eligibility requirements. Some boards require prior approval or re-registration. Consult your school or board office as early as possible to avoid missing deadlines.

Hello,

After class 10th standard one have to choice for taking biology or mathematics for science stream admission. Before registration in their board, any students can change biology to mathematics or mathematics to biology. But, after registration one cannot change form biology to mathematics or mathematics to biology. You can understand.

Hello Aspirant,

Yes you can switch Maths to Biology when repeating 12th grade, but this depends on your education board and your school. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Check with your school/college - Some schools allow stream changers from (PCM to PCB). Others may not allow this change.
  2. Confirm with your board (CBSE, State Board, etc) - My earlier experiences showed some cases wherein boards may not allow this change unless there's a change of permission, or change registration.
  3. Starting fresh, or changing subject - you may have to re-register as a private candidate, or a regular student, and exhibit your new choice subject, with biology instead of maths, etc.

For the above process. always have proper 'guidance' from school, or board office, before proceeding.

Hi,

Absolutely. If you failed Maths in 12th and are repeating the year, you can register for the PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) stream instead of PCM. Most boards allow such changes between attempts. You’ll need to notify your school or the state board during registration. Biology-based career options like NEET, nursing, paramedical or life sciences become available once you switch.

Thank you!
