hi,

yes, you may change your category and in jee main april session you may apply from general ews if you have all the necessary documents to claim for ews category. however since you have applied jee main january session from general category, your rank and score will be evaluated as general, during the counselling period you need to choose any one of the category and rank, as one candidate may only get counselling from one category and based on its rank.

If I select EWS for the April session, then my rank will be considered as General or EWS? And can we use the same application no as that of January by just changing the catagory from General to EWS?

Curious Girl if you want to change category you need to apply as fresh candidate. during counselling process you have to select any one profile.
