IF you have interest in animation and multimedia than why not you can consider BFA Animation or visual communication programme through that you would get better opportunity , knowledge and skills for the same

Having a Engineering degree is not a solution for this field you should have good foundation in the same domain.

Yes u can definitely do it. It will boost ur career options  and give u a lot of knowledge as u can design things using engineering and animation related both also.
