There is nothing like Diploma in Engineering .

Diploma and Engineering both are different but are similar in nature .

You can do diploma after 10th and engineering after 12th or after completing your diploma.

Diploma is of 3 years while engineering is of 4 years. But if you do engineering after diploma it will become 3 years course for you because you will get admission in 2nd year.

Now why diploma and engineering are similar , they are similar as both are technical courses and even both have same branches like CS , Mechanical , Electrical , Electronics , Instrumentation etc . Even in both you have to learn about same thing. But in engineering you will learn something more than diploma and it is advance course than diploma and also a degree course .

Now , as you asked if you can do diploma after 10th then yes you can do diploma after 10th in any branch but for engineering you have to pass 12th or after completing your diploma you can get direct admission in 2nd year through lateral entry . But for both you have to give entrance examination .
