Dear Mahendra, if you want to get into any of the IITs, you should appear for JEE Advanced as JEE Advanced is the gateway for admission to IITs. To be eligible for JEE Advanced, you need to  qualify in JEE Mains and be among the top 2,24,000 candidates. If you are studying in 12th, then you can appear for JEE Mains. Coming to your question I would like to tell you that yes , you can fill the application form of the IIT as you had mentioned you are in class 12 so you can give the paper of iit, as it would be counted as a appearing one under the elligibility criteria.
