Hello Arjunas,

Every year MHT CET examinations are conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra to provide admissions into various engineering colleges. This admission procedure accounts for 85% of seats in private unaided engineering institutes filled through MHT CET and 15% of the seats are reserved for all India quota based on MHT-CET.

Eligibility Criteria:

The student must have passed HSC or 12th or equivalent degree from a recognized Indian Institution

There is no age limit for this examination.

Candidates appearing in qualifying exams are also eligible.

Exemptions:

Children of NRI or OCI or PIO are not required to appear for this examination.

children of Indian workers, Gulf countries are also not required to appear for this examination.

Foreign nationals are also exempted.

These candidates are offered direct admissions based on their performance in qualifying exams.

In addition to this you will be considered under the Marathi Domicile if you possess any one of the following criteria:

If you are a native Marathi and have passed at least SSC exams in Maharastra.

If any of your parents are natives of Maharashtra.

If any of your parents are working or going to be transferred into Maharashtra.

If any of your parents is a government retiree of the Government of Maharashtra.

Hence, as per the guidelines of MHT CET if you are a non-Marathi candidate and you want to appear for the exam you are eligible to appear in MHT CET but you will be considered as OMS(Outside Maharashtra State student).

I hope this answer helps you. All the best.
