NEET is conducted for admission of various medical courses such as MBBS/BDS//Bachelor of Homeopathy Medicine and Surgery/Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery/Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, Bachelors of Veterinary Sciences (BVSc) and Animal Husbandry (AH) ,in some cases even admission for BPT/BPharm is done through NEET scores, hence to answer your question NEET is compulsory, you have to qualify NEET as well the required cut-offs as per your respective category through whatever route you choose to participate whether through AIQ/State Counselling, in order to appear for NEET you need to fulfill the criteria as follows;


Attained 17 years age by 31st December of the appearing year.

Passed 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology/Biotechnology as core subjects.

PCB Aggregate inclusive of theory and practical needs to be attained against one's respective category

UR-50%
SC/ST/OBC-40%
PWD-45%

As of there is no upper age limit for appearing in NEET, hence no more restrictions as well in number of attempts.

No.

I am extremely sorry to tell you dear but you cannot take admission in dental College if you fail to qualify Neet examination

This is because,

Neet examination has been made mandatory to qualify to take admission in any dental college for your BDS

So, if you fail to qualify Neet examination you cannot get admission in any college be it government or private for your BDS , leave India you cannot get admission in even abroad if you fail to qualify Neet examination, as Neet is compulsory to qualify even for admission in abroad for medical or Dental College

Dear aspirant

No, you can't take admission in BDS or any other courses like MBBS, BAMS, BHMS etc  which admission are done through NEET exam. You will have to score minimum qualify marks to get seat even in private or management quota of BDS college to take admission.

This year qualifying marks are given below

General - 720-147

General-PH -146-129

SC/ST/OBC - 146-113

SC/ST/OBC-PH - 128-113
