Hello student,

Yes , you can get admission either  by your 12 th score  or by some entrance exam . It varies college to college and course to course for each college.

For example: delhi university takes admissions on the basis of merit list(12th marks) for various  courses. 

On the other hand if you want to persue b.tech like course form NITs or IITs then you have to go through an exam i.e jee.
