Hello aspirant, you rank is good but it is bit less to get mechanical engineering in jadavpur university. The last cutoff for general category,mechanical engineering - 771 in final round of counselling. The chances are unlikely less to get you desired branch.

If for you good college is first priority than the branch then you can choose following streams in ju -

1. Instrumentation engineering (rank-848)

2. Metallurgical engineering  (1363)

3. Civil engineering (1186) 

4. Chemical engineering (1023)

5. Production engineering (1318)

According to the previous years cutoff,with this rank you can not get mechanical branch in this college.As closing rank for General according to previous years cutoff is 461.That's why there are less chances of getting this branch.
