Hello Nandish

You may get low ranking nits with non core branch ( like nit srinagar; nit Arunachal Pradesh; nit Goa etc.) But not much fruitful .

For reference you can see last year's cut off those colleges in which you want to go and possible for you to go.

It is difficult to get a good ranking nit colleges in this rank ; either you have to with state government or a good private college.( Chandigarh University; Murthal; etc.)

Good luck

Hello nandish, Your JEE Main rank is not very good, you won't be able to get any seat in any branch if you apply as another state candidate in other state NITs. you would have maximum chance of getting a seat if you apply in any NIT in your home state because then you can avail home state quota. But you haven't specified your home state here. so I am providing the 2018 JOSAA Final round closing ranks for NITs. check it out yourself and then finalize your course and college:
