Sorry to tell you dear but you cannot get admission directly in the 2nd year of Engineering in NITs or IITs even after completing your DME i.e Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

This is because admission in 2nd year of Engineering to diploma students is there through lateral entry but there's no scheme for lateral entry in NITs or IITs , so you cannot get admission directly in the 2nd year of Engineering in NITs or IITs even after completing your DME i.e Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
